VACATION

Day 1
We headed out Thursday 5-29-08 to go see some friends in Ozona, TX. Mason enjoyed playing with Corbin and his neighbors. They had a blast in the pool. Cole and Pam thanks for cooking hot dogs and hamburgers.

Mason is in the red shirt and Corbin is the little boy pulling on his ears that later takes the hose away from Mason and sprays him. Mason deserved it because he was hosing them down too.

Day 2
On Friday 5-30-08 we headed for San Antonio. We checked into the hotel and Mason and Daddy took at nap. After everyone woke up we went to eat at Red Robin and visited Bass Pro Shop. This was Mason's 1st trip to this store and boy was it fun. Almost as good as the zoo. (A lot cooler too!!)

There were many animals and talk about at Bass Pro
Mason and Daddy went to see how much the fish weighed....
Mason is meeting some of his kin. We have always called him our "little monkey". He thought they were as funny as he is.
Mason also got to pet the zebra. There was not a Do Not Touch Sign.

There were so many different types of animals. Mason saw the ducks hanging and we asked what they said. He responded with Quack! Quack!.

One of the 1st things he saw when we got to the store was the giant fish tank. I think he could have stayed there all day. Here comes the big cat fish right at his hand. (sorry for the glare, I tried many angles but not luck on a clear picture)

Still pointing out the fish.

Playing with big boy toys. Who wants this for Christmas?
Day 3
Saturday 5-31-08 we woke up and went to the Children's Museum downtown San Antonio. Mason had a blast. We played until lunch time and then went to eat lunch out side on the street. They have a fiesta on the street the last weekend of every month. Mason enjoyed his chicken puffy taco with cheese. Then we headed to the hotel to take a nap.
Mason found out what a magnet does. He enjoyed playing with the nuts and bolts more than putting them on the magnet.

Check it out!! Daddy and Mason built a Maze for the ball to go down on.

A mini cave for little people. When you looked up there were little bats.
Look what mommy and I built. Mason was so funny trying to carry the large squares around. He was so proud once it was all put together.
Watch out Trisha, I can be your little helper.

Mommy was so proud

This was a cool little slide. There was a rainmaker at the top and it sounded a tape of rain falling.

Daddy and Mason milking the cow. It had water inside that when you "milked" the cow the water came out. Mason thought it was pretty cool.
Mason and Mommy with the mooo cow
Look what Mason found in the chicken coupe.....wooden eggs.
Daddy and Mason took a ride in the Holt CAT. Mason wore his little hard hat. He had fun pushing the buttons to make it scoop the rocks up and dump them out in the container. We had to ride this more than once.
There was an air plane that you could walk though and pretend to fly. I could not get a good picture outside of the plane because of the lights in the museum.

He thought he was so big climbing up on that stool.

He has always loved the phones. He got a little upset because he could not move the phone. The second time we went in the phone room, we were the only ones there and he picked up all the stools and stacked them in a corner. Guess he thought they needed to be put up.

It worked better for him to just put the pieces of foam in by hand.
This was a great area downstairs to just run off all of our energy.
We picked corn and hauled it to the little farm they had set up.
Mommy and Mason having a puffy taco from the fiesta on the street. This was his first puffy taco and he really liked it.
OUR 2nd TRIP TO THE MUSEUM AFTER NAP
The friends from Ozona who we stayed with on Thursday, joined us Saturday evening. We went back to the Children's Museum, where Mason and Corbin had a good time.

For dinner we went the Rainforest Cafe. The boys liked watching all of the animals and enjoyed their giant Icee. (I thought it was going to be kid size, but surprise it was so big and came in a souvenir cup). Would have got a picture of the group but Corbin did not take a nap this day and he was passed out in his mom's lap while we were eating.
Day 4
We got up loaded the car and headed for the zoo.

Pam, Corbin, Mason and Me sitting on the lions.
Daddy and Mason
Mason and Corbin are watching one of the types of Monkeys.
The Leopard was hot and so were we. There were kids tapping on the window and he would open his mouth and show his teeth. He did not seem to happy. Mason saw the leopard and went over to see.
I think the fish and birds were some of Mason's favorite because he could see them moving. A lot of the animals were asleep when we got there and the smart ones laid still in the shade.
This was too much fun!!! Before we left the zoo, we spotted a duck on the path. Mason took off after it. Does he look onory or what?
One of the men who works at the zoo was out with a few different of their animals. An iguana and a baby alligator.
Daddy and Mason looking at the alligator
We had to get some food to feed the fish. I think Mason had more fun getting to throw something in the water.
Daddy and Mason visiting the flamingos and more fish.
The Animals from Africa
Rhinos had it made with water misters on them
The giraffes
See that Elephant
Day 4-5
We spent at our good ole neighbors in Jourdanton.
Day 6
On Tuesday, 6-3-08 we went to the coast. Their grandson Kooper went with us. He and Mason had fun. Joel and Bobby went fishing and Doris, the boys and I went swimming at the pool and the beach.

Day 7
We headed back to Jourdanton where we were able to relax and wash some clothes. Thanks again Doris and Bobby for everything!! We had a great time.
Day 8
We headed to Bastrop for Joel's family reunion. We stopped in SanMarcos to eat at Mamacita's. Mason loved the green sauce. He ate it by the spoonful. We got the Juanice and Oran's and had pizza for dinner.

I think Mason was having some ice to cool off. He also picked up the game of golf on our trip. Had to get him some clubs when we got home.
Day 9
All the family was there we visited and ate lunch. After some took naps, we went out to the front yard and played in the water. Mason thought the slip-n-slide was a water fountain.
Got to blow some bubbles with Grandmama
Day 10
We loaded up and went eat breakfast at Juanice and Oran's and take family pictures. We left about 10:30 due to the long road ahead. We got into Lubbock at 7:30. Along the way we stopped for a quick drive thru lunch, gas in Brownwoood and to stretch in Sweetwater. Mason only slept 1 1/2 hours out of the 9 we were in the car. That is longer than I thought he would sleep.
Trying to keep entertained on the long trip home. On our 10 day trip we drove 1,400 + miles. Had a good time but glad to be home and Mason was glad to be out of his car seat.
