Celebrating the 4th of July

Okay I have used the same flag to take pictures since Mason's 1st 4th of July. I must admit it is harder getting two kids to sit still for a picture when you are doing it yourself. Mason was being a typical 2 year old--I got a brief moment of co-operation. Joel had to work and I was not brave enough to go downtown to the big parade, so the boys and I stayed at home where it was cool and had a hot dog.

Miles went to sleep and I took what I think is one of my favorite pictures of him sleeping.

Meanwhile back in the living room Mason decided to be silly.

The little town we live in had a great fireworks show. Mosquitoes were so bad that we did not get out of the car. After hanging out in the car waiting 30 minutes for it to start and then watching about 10 minutes of the fireworks the boys and the parents were ready to go home. We live about 1.5 miles from where the firework display was and we learned that you can see it better from our house. Lesson learned for next year.

Sitting in the car waiting for fireworks. Mason was so tired. He did not have a nap all day. I had already taken a shower and I was ready for bed as soon as the fireworks were over. It was too convenient.
