Mason's 2nd Birthday

In preparation for Mason's 2nd birthday party we discovered that he loved NEMO. I found a NEMO cake pan and eventhough I was not planning on doing the cake, after a practice round of icing the cake pan and Mason recognizing it as NEMO I made the cake.

Here is my practice run of icing the cake pan.

He remembered the icing several weeks later at his birthday party.

Here is my first pretty birthday cake I have ever attempted. It turned out pretty good.

This year was a lot different when singing "Happy Birthday". Mason was actually smiling where as last year he cried.

Mason enjoyed it and that is all that mattered.

MeMe and PaPaw brought NEMO to the birthday party. Mason thought it was pretty neat.

Grandmama and Granddad gave this to Mason the morning of his party.

Mommy and Daddy got me a fire truck and tunnel.

Mason also got many great gifts from other friend and family.

Tia, Kelby and Aaron got Mason the John Deer trike.

Cousin Kelby and Max even played with the new stuff.

Mason was so funny with his remote control car. He likes pushing buttons and like the fact that the car moved but it took him a few minutes to realize that the buttons are what made the car go. The look on his face when my mom showed him the buttons on the remote is what made the car move was priceless. You could actually see the light bulb go off.

Mason birthday was actually a few days later on the 20th and we had corn on the cob and BBQ from Rudy's. This was Mason 1st interest in corn. He thoguht it was pretty good stuff.

When trying to decide on NEMO or a monkey it was hard. Mason held on to both cake pans, so the day of his birthday I made the monkey cake.
